Data changelog

A dated record of real changes to PlainHousehold's data and methodology. Every entry below is corroborated by our own rebuild records or git history -- we do not backfill or invent changelog entries. See our editorial & corrections policy for how to report an issue, or the methodology page for how figures are derived.

  1. Data refresh

    Rankings pipeline stage upgraded

The rankings-generation stage was rebuilt to version 2, refreshing the household-spending comparisons and rankings pages served across the site.

Recorded in the portal database at rebuild time (_metadata: stage:rankings v2, last_upgrade).

  2. Data refresh

Initial BLS Consumer Expenditure Survey rebuild

Base, load, and ranking pipeline stages ran against the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey extract, producing the household-spending dataset this site renders from.

Recorded in the portal database at rebuild time (_metadata.rebuild_completed).

  3. Methodology revision

Added editorial-policy and disclaimer trust pages

Published the editorial & corrections policy (sourcing standards, update cadence, how to report a wrong record) and disclaimer pages, and linked them from the site footer.

    Git history for src/pages/editorial-policy.astro.

  4. Correction

Removed 5 fabricated pages and 50 unused entity-analysis records

A site-integrity sweep found and archived 5 pages that did not trace to real source data, and deleted 50 entity-analysis JSON records that were no longer referenced by any live page.

    Git history: fix(plainhousehold,kiz-808) S211 + S238 closure.

  5. Methodology revision

    Added methodology and FAQ pages

Published the methodology page documenting how spending figures are derived from the BLS Consumer Expenditure Survey.

    Git history for src/pages/methodology.astro (KIZ-423, KIZ-422).
